Solar Reign Update 23: Quality of Life + More



  • Wrote a new targeting system that works as intended.
  • Replaced world map camera to one which is smoother and functions better (still needs work).
  • Added a field of view system where ships that are a certain distance away fade away and fade back in if close enough.

  • Added animations to several menus. 
  • Hit-markers were added to the combat scenes.
  • Increased the visual quality of the world map by replacing all suns and asteroid belts.
  • After being captured the game no longer pauses until you are released. 
  • The scroll wheel on the ledger was hard to see due to color.
  • The save file is now named after the character to which the save pertains.
  • Removed pausing when opening menus to allow the player to do other things while traveling to a location.

  • Improved performance on the world map. 
  • The laser beam weapon no longer clips through the objects being hit.
  • Fixed the performance drop on player death in combat scenes.
  • Fixed bug causing multiple inputs on movement in world map causing the player to not go where intended.
  • Fixed the game not unpausing after closing the pause menu.
  • Fixed the store player-owned quantity not correctly going down to zero.
  • Fixed bug causing time to slow when passing by stations/planets.
