Remade Building System, Weapon Skills, and Interactions


Thank you for checking out my devlog! I am happy to share my progress with you and appreciate any feedback that can be given!


Major Updates:

  • Remade the building system to be less buggy and overall simpler. This is achieved by moving from a building-slot-style building to building upgrades. Previously, the dropdowns were extremely buggy and pretty much made it unusable. Now, we have a simple upgrade button that gives bonuses to the settlements. The prices are all set to be the same and currently either low or set to zero. This will change in the future.  Currently, the resources themselves are not balanced but major strides have been made. These upgrades are saved along with settlement resources.


  • Added skills for each weapon which level on usage. An increase in level results in increased damage as you become more skilled. This feature is also implemented with the saving system, including current level and current experience towards the next skill level. 
  • AI Commanders now have a stat that increases over time to allow them to recruit more fleet members. Currently, this is not balanced and is only a rudimentary implementation. 

Minor Updates:

  • Implemented pausing when interacting with world objects, including enemies and locations.
  • Started the process of storing individual data for NPCs.
